Let Us Run Our Dogs has been formed as a
non-profit organization
to help Hawaii County acquire an off-leash dog park. Our organization is
registered with the State of Hawaii. With your support, we will have our
very first Hawaii County off-leash dog park. We have started a petition
that already has over 2,500 signatures and is growing. We've received
enormous support from our community. There are many of us who want a place
for our dogs; imagine a place where freedom is # 1 for our dogs. A place
where our dogs can play; a friendly place where dogs can be dogs.
Our organization has worked together with Hawaii County in
writing an amendment for the leash law. After being approved by the
County Council unanimously.
Bill 115, ordinance 09-113, was signed by Mayor Billy Kenoi on
September 23rd, 2009.
This will allow us to have our
first off-leash dog park in Hawaii
county.
